Gresham, OR - Pouring, steady rain did not stop the Wildcats from 9 new qualifying marks and 28 top 8 finishers. 21 different teams competed in what was dubbed by some Wildcats as "The Meet That Never Ended".
Highlights from the meet including first place finishes from senior Brooke Niemann in the steeplechase and the women's 4X100 team, second place finishes from senior Kate Shear in the javelin, junior Steven Holland in high jump, and the men's 4X100 team, and a third place finish from freshman Jay Braun in the 100m.
Olivia Bannerott placed 4th in Long Jump with a mark of 17'2" which puts her at number 6 all time on the Linfield top ten list.
The poor weather brought some comical highlights from a few team members including freshman Jade Everage running out of her spikes in the 200m, senior Cody Tipton falling during the handoff in the 4X400 relay, and junior Alex Mangen following around distance coach Greg Mitchell with an umbrella the entire meet to keep him dry.
This past weekend in North Carolina, Sophomore Dallas Edge competed at the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships and achieved All-American status in the 60m hurdles. Edge became Linfield's first top-eight finisher in a running event at the NCAA Indoor Championships in more than a decade.
